Reimagining Activism, Communication and Trajectories ofParticipation in the Global

REACT asks; What does participation look like in everyday life? Who gets heard, seen and included — and who does not?

In five cities, with one goal

Across Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Durban, Hyderabad and Guadalajara, REACT explores these questions through research, storytelling and creative practice.

The project follows evolving trajectories of participation over time — not as fixed answers, but as lived experiences shaped by place, inequality, identity, culture and possibility.

The Project

The REACT project is a multi-country grounded research project that focuses on exploring and understanding everyday youth participation in social change across cities in the Global South through an interdisciplinary approach.  In a time of increasing economic uncertainty and socio-economic inequalities on a global scale, the REACT project seeks to connect with urban youth to better understand their lived experiences and how they engage with the processes of social change by tracing their trajectories of participation.
